Business module
Employee Directory Software
One trusted record of every person in your organisation — departments, designations and lifecycle, shared by every Kellith product without disagreement.
Every other module asks the directory the same question: who is this person, and were they employed that day? Payroll, attendance, leave and projects all break quietly when that answer drifts — so the directory is the one record Kellith refuses to let drift.
The rules it enforces
Not aspirations — guarantees. Each of these is a documented behaviour of the module, covered by a test.
- Employment history is never deleted.
- Terminating someone sets a leaving date; the person stays in the directory and the record freezes. Audits, payroll corrections and rehires all need the past to stay put.
- A reporting line can never loop back on itself.
- Nobody can end up above their own manager, and a department can never become its own ancestor — the guard most org-chart tools quietly lack.
- Email and employee code are unique per organisation.
- Compared case-insensitively, trimmed and normalised on the way in. Storage is canonical, not whatever the form was sent.
- Structure that is in use cannot be deleted.
- Not a department with people or sub-departments in it, not a designation somebody holds. Tidying a list can never strip real records of their meaning.
- Every read is scoped to your organisation.
- An id from another organisation is simply not found — there is no cross-tenant answer to leak.
- Joining, leaving and structure changes land on the audit trail in human words.
- Entries name the person. An edit records which fields changed — never the values — and a refused change records nothing.
What it lets people do
- Add a person to the directory.
- See who is in the directory, and their details.
- Correct a person's details, including their department, designation and manager — this is how a promotion is recorded.
- Record that someone has left the organization.
- Create and remove departments.
- Create and remove designations.
